COMCAM becomes an official Congestion Service Provider (CSP)

COMCAM is proud to announce its recent certification as a Congestion Service Provider (CSP). With this certification, we are authorized to offer our customers’ flexible capacity to grid operators, helping to alleviate congestion and prevent overload on the electricity network. Achieving CSP status confirms that COMCAM meets all technical and legal requirements to actively and reliably manage energy production and consumption.

Why did COMCAM become a CSP?

COMCAM’s goal is to provide the highest level of service to its customers and ensure a secure energy supply. By becoming a CSP:

  • We enhance our service offering: We can respond more effectively to fluctuations in energy demand or supply, helping our clients reduce costs and maximize revenue.
  • We deliver a complete solution: From energy procurement and management to actively managing flexibility, we ensure an integrated approach.
  • We support the energy transition: By helping to prevent grid congestion, we enable greater integration of renewable resources and promote a more resilient power system.

What is congestion management?

Congestion management focuses on preventing overload on the electricity grid by intelligently coordinating energy production and consumption. For example, when excessive solar or wind power is generated in a particular area, COMCAM can:

  • Temporarily reduce production (e.g., by curtailing solar panel output).
  • Increase demand (e.g., by activating electric vehicle charging stations).

This keeps the grid in balance, reduces the risk of disruptions, and contributes to a stable and sustainable energy supply.
